FIG General Assembly: 28 May and 1 June 2023
SIGNIA BY HILTON BONNET CREEK / WALDORF ASTORIA
ORLANDO, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES
We are excited to announce our main keynote speakers at the Opening Ceremony. Our national host NSPS together with the local hosts from Florida and FIG are looking forward to welcoming you in Orlando. The opening ceremony will provide a spectacular introduction to the FIG Working Week, its theme, and its unique location – a festive start of the week.
Keynote presentation by SERVING SOCIETY, BENEFITTING PEOPLE AND THE PLANET: TACKLING THE GLOBAL CHALLENGES |
Diane will present the FIG’s agenda for the period 2023 to 2026, which is underpinned by the need for a sustainable profession that delivers services in a sustainable manner and address the global sustainable development agenda and to act now to address the climate agenda.
The FIG Council Work Plan 2023-2026 is available on the website.
Keynote presentation by SURVEYING “PROJECT X” |
"In 1964 my father was asked to prepare a survey of 12,450 acres that must be completed within six weeks. This is the story behind that survey and the additional tracts and parcels that became the 27,443 acres that we know today as Walt Disney World. It will cover a little bit of local history and the technology of the day that was used to establish the boundary lines in the woods and swamps of Central Florida almost sixty years ago and led to what, at the time, was the largest private construction project in the United States."
The technical programme is available on the website.
