This Call for Papers is announced both for peer review papers and non-peer review papers.
The deadline for submission of abstract and paper for Peer Reeview is 15 November 2022 and 15 January 2023 for non-peer review papers.
Submitting a paper to FIG Working Week 2023 is a unique opportunity to present your views and share your ideas with thousands of surveyors and spatial professionals from around the world. FIG Working Week provides a unique forum to discuss and debate technical, operational and business matters while looking ahead and discover what will be needed in the future for our profession, whilst preserving what works well today.
From 28 May to 1 June 2023 the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and the American local organisers, National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), will welcome surveyors to Orlando, Florida. FIG Working Week is an exciting week-long conference that brings the international community of surveying and spatial professionals together to experience a mix of interesting technical sessions and workshops, a trade exhibition and a variety of side events and social functions.
The overall theme is
Protecting Our World, Conquering New Frontiers
The theme touches many relevant and current topics and refers to the importance of looking ahead and discovering what will be needed in the future for our profession and at the same time make sure to preserve what works well today. There can be many interpretations of how to look ahead, conquer new frontiers with an eye on how to protect our world. One large goal is right ahead of us, namely the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a deadline that comes closer. Many topics included in the 10 Commissions cover areas that are directly related to the SDGs. See specification of topics and themes.
The theme is intended to inspire surveying and geospatial professionals to seek to expand presence through technology, experience, collaboration and good will for a better tomorrow. As our world and climate changes around us, we aspire to leverage our knowledge base and tools for measuring, monitoring, and forecasting how to improve the outlook for future generations.
The Working Week in Orlando is an opportunity for the entire FIG community to meet, discuss learn an get inspired on overall emerging challenges currently faced by our world. As Surveyors and related professions, we have not only the ability but the responsibility to actively participate in the solutions of these challenges.

- Abstract and full paper for peer review by 15 November 2022
- Abstract non-peer review by 15 January and subsequently full paper by 28 February 2023
